Parish ministry where there is no parish.
We do the ministry of Jesus in the methods of Jesus.
-
Pastoral Care begins with paying attention to God. As we encounter those near to us, we love them as Jesus does. We pray for and with our neighbors. We lead small groups in Bible and book studies as we pursue people relationally. We embody a holy presence in our community.
-
With intention and regularity, we invite people to our home to share a meal with them. Monthly, we host large parties. But we also love to host one or two families at a time to get to know their desires, their loves, their pains, and their heartaches. We believe that our non-Christian friends’ journeys to the Lord’s Table begins at our dinner table.
-
We maintain a holy presence in the community and neighborhood by serving those in need. This can merely be watching a child while the parent attends to other needs, or it can be serving the local school through serving on a school committee. But what we have become known for most is hosting a dinner party that raises money to support the local elementary school.
-
We long to inspire and stir up the imaginations of Christians who are trying to reach their friends, family, and neighbors with the love of Jesus Christ. Through weekend seminars and hosted retreats, we equip and train local churches, pastors, and ministry leaders in the practice of hospitality.
What We Do:
Pastoral Care
Mark and Stacey regularly sit down one-on-one to listen, coach, counsel, pastor, and pray for those in our parish. We are able to do this for free, no strings attached, because of the generosity of our donors. If you or someone you know desires pastoral care, someone to talk to about either the joys or sorrows of life, or prayer, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Hospitality
We host monthly Sunday Suppers for people to come and share a meal with one another. We welcome people into our home and invite them to sit down at the table together and share their lives over a meal. We host several large parties throughout the year, most notably a multi-course dinner that raises money for the local elementary school. Following the church calendar, we hold a neighborhood-wide Lessons & Carols service during Advent and a Feast at Easter, complete with a champagne toast to the Resurrected King Jesus!
Community Service
Maintaining a holy presence in the neighborhood, at the school, and throughout the community is an important part of our ministry. Stacey serves on school boards and committees while organizing events that celebrate the vast diversity of people in our community. Mark coaches the kids’ baseball and basketball teams. We also provide turkeys and food through the food pantry for families in need during the holidays.
Equipping + Training
Mark loves to share his passion for hospitality, feasting, and the sacramental imagination. Through writing and teaching, leading hands-on classes on baking, or leading a wine tasting, Mark trains and equips local pastors, churches, and ministry leaders in having a posture of hospitality in their church and in their community.
