Pastor
I grew up in Oklahoma in a Christian family, but as is often the case my faith was just following in my parents’ footsteps. It was the summer between 5th and 6th grade that I moved from Oklahoma City to Tulsa. This was an unmooring of my life and I had to find an anchor. As I began to get involved in the youth group at my local church, I saw that through the storms of life, Jesus would and could be my anchor. Shortly thereafter, while on a mission trip in Costa Rica, I felt God inviting me into pastoral ministry.
I studied Spanish at Kansas State University and received a Master in Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago. I have served churches in Tulsa, Chicago, St. Louis, and Atlanta before moving to Denver to start a church. Recently, I completed a Doctor of Ministry focused on hospitality and the pastoral vocation through the Eugene Peterson Center for Christian Imagination at Western Theological Seminary.
My wife, Stacey, and I have been married since 2011. We have three children — Michael, Evelyn and Joshua.
There is nothing that cannot be a hobby to me, but my primary ones involve food (growing, preparing, and eating), fly-fishing, and photography.
