What to Expect:

No one likes walking into a new place without knowing what to expect. Here are a few notes to orient you before you come!

  • Everyone is new! One of the fun things about going to a new church is it’s most peoples’ first time. We have people of faith, doubters, curious and skeptics! All are welcome!

  • Wear whatever makes you comfortable! You may have grown up wear your “Sunday best” or shorts and flip-flops to church. At The Table, we want you to wear whatever you’re comfortable wearing.

  • Children are welcome! We love having children in our worship with us!

Order of Worship:

We approach our worship with a blend of the contemporary and historical elements throughout our worship service with the hope that we find rhythms of grace that bind our hearts to Jesus. This is commonly called “liturgy”. Liturgy refers to the various elements that create our worship.

During our time of worship you will encounter:

  • Prayer: We will pray both corporately and individually, silently and aloud. Much of our worship could be described as prayer.

  • Songs: A big part of our worship is lifting our voices and hearts to God.

  • Scripture: We are a forgetful people, so we need God’s story, as told through the people of God in the Bible. This happens through both the reading of passages and the preaching of a sermon.

  • Sacraments: Every time we gather, we are instructed to remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us and to celebrate it through the meal, commonly called Communion. We would hardly be able to call ourselves The Table if we didn’t. Whenever possible, we will also celebrate the sacrament of baptism. This is available to both infants and new, adult Christians.
